How to Design and Print Your Custom Name Labels
Make your name easy to read up close or from a distance. Follow these easy steps to get started.
- Use our online design tool. After inputting your name label’s specs, select “Create Your Design Online” at the bottom of the calculator. You’ll be taken to a blank canvas where you can add images, edit text, and combine colors.
- Upload your print-ready file. Select “Upload Your File and Order Now.” Your file should follow these guidelines to qualify for printing:
- File is in CMYK color mode.
- Save as any of the recommended formats: JPG, TIF, EPS, AI, PUB, and PNG.
- Ensure your design stays within the bleed, safe zone, and trimline.

When should I order cut-to-size or roll labels?
Cut-to-size labels printed and delivered in individual pieces. Recommended for quantities below 250 labels.
Roll labels are orders in hundreds of pieces, usually above 250. Ideal for fast and easy application on several items using a label gun. These are also made of durable and long-lasting material such as polypropylene (BOPP), vinyl stock or white textured estate #8. Each roll has a 3” diameter core that fits most dispensers.
What kind of adhesive is found on roll labels?
Roll name labels contain a general purpose permanent acrylic adhesive. It sticks to most plastic, paper, and corrugated substrates. This adhesive cannot be removed unless destroyed. Removal will also leave residue on the surface it was applied to.
What is the fastest production time for my order?
Cut-to-size name labels take one (1) business day to print.
The production time for roll labels depend on your selected material. These take longer to print due to the larger quantity ordered. White premium sticker paper and white BOPP (indoor) labels take at least two (2) business days to produce. Clear, silver metallic, and rainbow holographic BOPP take six (6) business days. The printing time on the online calculator is updated for each material selection.
