Step Up Your Product Packaging With Bold and Vibrant Jar Labels

These custom labels for jars are excellent for your small business, product test marketing, or brand corporate gifts. Personalize every detail, from shape and size that fits your container to container to how the colors appear against the light.

Design jar labels in square, rectangle, circle, or oval sizes. Other fun shapes such as starburst and hexagon are also available. Choose from waterproof and oil-resistant materials that last in refrigerators.

How to Stand Out With Your Personalized Jar Labels

Print in a shape that calls attention to your product. Create a jar label that helps customers identify your product. Make sure the height and width fit the front of your container. You can create a wraparound label or design the front and back labels separately. Measure the dimensions of your package to ensure the shape fits on either side.

Make sure that the size can fit all the required information for food labels. Refer to the infographic below for the 5 main elements in a food packaging label:

      1. Statement of identity
      2. Net weight
      3. Manufacturer’s address
      4. Nutrition facts
      5. Ingredients list
      6. Nutrition Facts

Note that single-ingredient food items like honey do not require an ingredients list on the label. However, if your fruit-based item includes other ingredients, then that list will need to be included.

Select a material and coating that complements your chosen colors and typography. You can create a design to match your specs or choose specs that will match your label’s look. Go for a gloss or high-gloss UV coating for a brightly colored label.

Matte is more suitable for minimalist or typography-based designs. Perfect for jar labels that have special heating or storage instructions.

Your choice of material will depend on how your product will be stored:

  • 4 mil. white vinyl high-gloss is recommended for labels that will be exposed outdoors
  • BOPP variations are used on products that are stored in refrigerators and exposed to oil and moisture.
  • Textured materials are normally seen on wine bottles and other items that will be stored in a cool place.

Inspirational Ideas and Marketing Tips for Your Custom Jar Labels

Do you require a bleed for my uploaded label file?

Yes. Your file should have the proper bleed set upon submission. The background of your artwork should extend beyond the trim line of 1/8 of an inch. The bleed ensures that the ink on the edge of the page is still printed and seen, even after being trimmed or cut. Below is an example of how the artwork will look with the bleed applied.

Size. Color. Material. It's all here, and more.

“I ordered 2 sets of jar lables. The lables for the back of the jar was great. I was dissatisfied with the one for the front of the jar. I thought the lettering and image would go to the end of the paper. Instead everything was centered in the middle with a lot of wasted space making it very small and hard to read. Not at all what I expected. I have to use these lables as this is all I have. If I order again from you can you correct this problem?”

“No problem on my first order. Too bad I couldn't see the white border. Perhaps when there is a white background and white border there should be a line of some sort. Or a warning.”

Q:
Can i send you a picture of what i have now for a quote
Asked 29 days ago by Shirley M.
A:

You can actually get a price of what you need online. On the Jar Label product page, fill out your size specifications, material and quantity, etc.  Once this is on your cart, even without uploading the file the printing price will already be there. If the specification you need is not among the options, you can fill up the closest specification and add it to cart. It will ask you to upload your file and create an account. Then give us a call for our Customer Support Representatives to finalize a quote.

If you want to check if the file is good to print, you can actually click on the "Start with a Free Proof" option. This will allow our Prepress Team to check your file and send you back a proof if it is printable.  If you approve it, you will go to the next page for checkout and the price will appear after you put in your shipping information. Once you make payment, it will go to production.  If the file is not printable, you will still get an email on the issues that were found on your file or a call back from one of our File Specialists who will explain what to do to move forward and get the label print ready.

Q:
What is the sizing dimension you recommend for the label to almost completely wrap around a generic size container/jar
Asked a month ago by Micah
A:

We cannot really recommend and will need the customer to provide the exact size. We advise you to simulate the label you need by cutting a piece of paper and trimming it to the nearest inch or half inch (i.e, 2" x 3.5" or 3" x 4") . Once you are satisfied with the size, you need to fill up the specifications on the product page and upload the file you need printed. Please make sure the artwork has a 250-300 DPI resolution for optimal printing and designed following the exact width and height ordered.

You may then order a free PDF proof which we send you for approval before the job goes into production. The proof is sent in actual size (view at 100%) and will contain the trim and bleed marks. You can actually print this out on your end and manually cut it exactly where the trim marks indicate to test it on your product.
