• Gloss offers the right brightness and shine. Perfect for detailed artwork with bold colors. 
• High-gloss has the brightest shine among the laminations. The best choice for labels that will be handled frequently and need to stand out in a crowded aisle.  

Uncoated is an alternative for labels that need to be written on. While it does not provide a protective element, it is the ideal choice for labels that are written on. It’s the perfect choice for mailing address labels or anything that will be sent personally to your customers.

How do I design my labels? 

There are two ways to design your labels on the product page you choose: 

• Use the online design tool. Select “Create Your Design Online” at the bottom of the online calculator. This will bring you to the easy intuitive design tool that loads straight on your browser.  
• Download a template. The ideal choice for those with a go-to editing program such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, or Microsoft Publisher. Head to the “Templates” tab on the label page and select the format you prefer. 

What are the common label shapes? 

The common label shapes are square, rectangle, circle, or oval. You can also print in special forms such as arch, hexagon, starburst, or lollipop. 

What are the best label shapes to use? 

The shape will depend on the design you’re creating and the surface it’s being applied on. Factors such as the message of the shape, such as presenting your logo or company name, will factor in choosing the shape you need. The surface size of where the label will be applied also matters, as the shape can’t be too big or too small against this background. It’s best to estimate a shape and its dimension based on these factors. 

What does unwind direction mean for roll labels? 

The unwind direction is from where the sticker will unwind from the roll. The direction is important for roll labels applied with a label gun or dispenser. It is based on the direction of your label’s copy, as seen in the diagram below:

After uploading your artwork on the File Upload page, choose “Wait – I want to receive and approve a free PDF proof” under the Select a Proofing Option” section.
