Make your special day a success with save-the-date cards.
Save the date cards are popularly used to let friends and family know about upcoming weddings, but you can also use these to announce other significant events like anniversaries, baby showers, graduation balls, or grand opening ceremonies. No matter how formal or informal it is, these cards are a classy way to ask people to keep that special date free.
UPrinting's save the date cards come in three types of sturdy cardstock, with your choice of protective coating from matte to high gloss. The four popular sizes come with matching envelopes. For added style, you may also have your cards die-cut to have rounded corners. Read on and find out which is the best look and feel for your important event.
Choose From an Array of Premium Paper Stock and Coatings
All available cardstock used on our custom printed save the date cards are sturdy to withstand long-distance deliveries and have a substantial feel to them.
The 14 pt. cardstock is usually seen on business cards. It’s thin enough to fit in your wallet but it also resists creases and folds while being handed out.
The 16 pt. cardstock has a medium thickness, adding a little more weight and durability that conveys the importance of your event in a tactile way.
The 17 pt. cardstock is slightly thicker than the 16 pt. and has an uncoated surface to emphasize your custom save the date card’s overall elegance.
You can elevate all cardstock options with the following protective coatings:
- Bright, bold, and shiny gloss works best for daring color combinations and designs that catch attention even from afar.
- Elegant, readable, and luxurious matte suits neutral colors and make it easier for people to read long text.
- High gloss brings out the details in an image. Perfect for save the date cards that use photographs on the front cover.
- Add personalized, handwritten notes on an uncoated side. Write your guest’s name or add a customized greeting on the uncoated side of the 17 pt. cardstock.
Save the Date Cards FAQs
The 16 pt. cardstock provides additional rigidity that prevents creases and folds. We recommend this for extra luxurious or brightly colored designs elevated with a glossy protective coating.
Those who want a rustic, uncoated effect on their save the date cards can print on 17 pt. cardstock. The uncoated surface allows you to write on it and personalize each invitation with your guest's name.
