Features

Raise your brand up with raised spot UV business cards.

Looking for a way to make your business card not just stand out, but stand up? Give someone your custom raised spot UV business cards and they'll see and truly feel the difference. You'll make an impression on every finger, and in every mind they touch.

Raised spot UV business card printing involves a special spot UV process where a layer of UV ink is applied to your cards on a specified area of your design. This layer of UV ink is about 50 microns higher than the surrounding surface, giving your cards an interesting, memorable texture wherever the raised spot UV is applied.

Use raised ink on your cards so customers can literally feel your designs and your brand, just like embossed business cards. These cards are popular for businesses of all sizes looking for a way to stand out from the competition. Raised ink cards are also perfect for appointment cards as well.

We print raised spot UV business cards in the standard 2" x 3.5" size and on durable 16 pt. velvet soft touch cardstock that elevates the premium texture.

You can also print with raised UV ink on one or both sides, allowing for intriguing design possibilities. A 5-day turnaround and a low minimum of 100 cards is available.

Elevate your business card customization. Try our raised spot UV business card printing.

“The cards were to be printed on a black paper but the paper has an inconsistent splotchy grey color. Th cut on the cards are not clean. The white underlay is seen along the edges. Really disappointed for a premium priced business card. I will probably use them as tags to identify boxes when traveling.”

“These cards looked terrible and when I reached out to get them fixed I still haven't heard anything from anyone for a few days.”

“I've been always satisfied with the output from UPrinting, but not this time. Business cards I ordered turned out terribly, and I couldn't even use them. The coated layers were all peeled off from the edges, and they just looked horrible... I can't believe they just sent it in that condition. I spoke with the representative and am still waiting for the feedback from him.”

“This order was delayed for weeks. I called multiple times and was not able to get this issue resolved., even after speaking with 'supervisors'. No one in the call center seems to have the power to resolve issues. They're about as useless as an automated website system. The quality of the cards are great. Worth the wait, I just wish this company didn't have such terrible customer service.”
Short Story: Product...

“Short Story: Product is excellent when properly executed. Ultimately, lack of ability to manage the proofing process effectively limits the ability to rely on this product for business use. If time management and efficiency are important, this is not currently a good option. Details: Ordered 1st trial run of cards - corrected the proof - ultimately received correct printing of cards (excellent final product). Reordered the EXACT same card with no changes and received incorrectly printed cards. Now, don't have cards I need and getting the run around from customer service relative to them sending a corrected printing even though the mistake from printing is clear in the ordering and proof management system. I am delay weeks in receiving what I need. We attempted to start ordering other employee cards using the same graphic layout and it is as if Uprinting has never seen the original cards that were sent. Incorrect proofs being sent to me for approval despite specific instructions included in the original order. Apparently, every time you order these cards it is as though they have no ability to refer to the originally approved notes and graphics for the product. I was advised to call EVERY time I put in an order for business cards. Doing the math, I would need to call dozens of times a year to get these cards for all my staff. Ultimately a fantastic quality product severely hampered by poor execution. In my opinion, not a viable option for those needing reliable, high-quality cards and efficient ordering and reordering. I will await a response from Uprinting regarding the status of production issues and any corrective action. Again, product has great potential but suffers from poor execution of printing instructions and lack of consistency even when reordering the exact same product.”

Q:
How do you prefer to see the Raised Spot UV in the art file? Show it as a color or. . .?
Asked 6 months ago by Brian
A:

You may add another layer so that our Prepress Team will understand that is the Raised or Spot UV portion  of your artwork.

Q:
Why do you only print 500 spot UV cards at a time?
Asked 12 months ago by Matese S.
A:

Our minimum run is for 100 quantity and have pricing for 250 and 500. We can actually print more than 500 but due to the Spot UV and Raised Printing, these are custom procedures that potentially have additional set up fees as the quantity increases. If you wish to get quotes for higher quantities, please give us a call and speak to a Custom Representative.

Q:
When using Photoshop, Is the Spot UV layer another layer in magenta, or do you use channel layer? If the latter, is the PDF/X1A standard OK for channels?
Asked a year ago by Raffi H.
A:

Actually you are correct in both instances. In terms of viewing the proof, the Magenta color is another layer for customers to see where the Spot UV is applied. Most customers only use  Acrobat Reader so they will not be able to remove the layer to see the original color and is the reason they sometimes call to confirm. Regarding the PDF/X1A standard, we will use that in the production process for our printers to make sure they know that those areas will undergo that additional process without touching the original file.

Q:
In the example photos, you show an all black business card using the raised UV ink. Is this using a black paper or a white paper that has been printed black. If it is the latter, do you offer black paper instead?
Asked a year ago by taylor G.
A:

All our paper stock is white. We can only print as close as possible to the color you provided.

Q:
Can you do up to a full bleed on raised spot UV business cards?
Asked a year ago by J.J. K.
A:

Yes you can do a full bleed.  The Raised Spot UV areas however, has a limitaiton. You can only cover a maximum of 30% of the surface of the Business Card. These areas can be a border or design elements that can bleed to the edges.  You are also allowed to do the same on the opposite side of the card as long as it is within the coverage limit.
