“I ordered 50 short-run booklets to use in presentations. The books I received were good printing quality. The paper was thin, but that's because I chose a lighter-weight paper. The binding (staples) is a little messy, but the booklets are still exactly what I needed.”

“The quality of paper in these booklets was even better than I expected and, as always with UPrinting, the print quality is excellent. I was disappointed however to discover that we're going to have to fix a few of the booklets by hand because the staples used for binding have popped out. Also, it would be great if the packing department could place a softer material in between the printed booklets and the shipping box because transport caused scratched on the cover of the top booklet. I'll have to keep this one back as a sample for our records instead of distributing it. Thank you. Overall, I'm satisfied but I am disappointed with these details.”

“I love that Uprint offers short run print orders without substantially increasing the price per unit. The reason I gave four stars instead of five, is because identical colors across various orders did not come out the same. Otherwise, a great printer!”

“The book quality is great, however, it looks like the stapling was too large for the small book and the pages are a little skewed.”

Q:
Do you you need front and back covers as separate artwork files?
Asked 2 months ago by Jonathan S.
A:

No. As these will print on the same side of the sheet, you just need to put the front cover artwork on the right panel and the back cover on the left side. These will actually be the first and last page of your booklet.  For example, if you have an eight page booklet, the front would be the first page and the back cover would be the eighth page. The same would be for the page two and page seven, page three and six and lastly page four and five. You can put each two page spread on one PDF file. Please follow the flat height and width of your booklet for all the pages. You may indicate the fold line as a dotted line.

However, if you wish to upload individual artwork for each, we can also work with that. You just need to paginate the inside pages to make sure we can follow your sequence. In this case, you would need to follow the size of each page rather than the flat size of the sheet.

Please make sure to put all the important design elements at least 1/8" inch from the edge of the paper (or the trim line) to make sure you follow the safe zone requirements so none of these may be inadvertently cut or folded over during printing.

Q:
Can inside black and white pages have a bleed?
Asked 3 months ago by rdebiak@mac.com
A:

Yes, we have the same requirements for every page. The background should extend 1/8" outside the trim line to bleed to the edge. All important design elements should in contrast be 1/8" inside the trim line (the safe zone) so that they will not be inadvertently cut in production.

Q:
Can I print just one copy to see how the quality is?
Asked 7 months ago by Connor F.
A:

Unfortunately, our minimum order is for 10 pieces. For short run booklets we use a HP Indigo Digital Press which is one of the industry's leading hardware for high quality and vibrant print output.   Also, before placing orders, we offer a free PDF proof to make sure the final print will come out the way you intend in terms of the format, layout and size. This will allow you to make changes before the job goes to production and before you make payment.

Q:
How do I customize the short run booklets?
Asked 8 months ago by Tara W.
A:

If you need to have any custom finish done on your booklets which is not configurable on the product page, please create an account and give us a call to speak to a Custom Representative. They will get your custom requests and quote you accordingly.

Q:
What is the timing to print 12 56-page booklets that are 8 1/2 x 11? Shipping to New York, NY 10001
Asked 12 months ago by Caitlin R.
A:

We can complete printing in either four or six business days. Delivery will also depend on the shipping option you choose and the transit time is separtate from the printing turnaround. If the materials are available, we can ship this out of our New Jersey facility, so that should just take another day or two via ground shipping. However, we are assuming every page of your artwork is print ready. Any adjustments or file changes to any of those may lead to delays or some of the booklets shipping ahead of the others.
