How Should I Go About My Poster Design?

Keep these tips in mind while creating your personalized posters.

  • Stay on brand.
The poster design should be consistent with your brand’s messaging. Customers should immediately identify who you are and the lifestyle you are selling.
  • Keep things concise.
A visually captivating design will get their attention. But the important information on your event and company should stand out. Make sure crucial info such as the venue, website, and contact details are the easiest to read.
  • Color a customer’s world.
Use colors to captivate and sustain a customer’s attention. The combination must lead the customer to the key details on the poster. Make sure the chosen hues are complementary.

“The prints were good quality and pretty much what i expected but the proofing and shipping took to long and i got them the day after the event that i needed them for.”

“I have used UPrinting for poster printing for 5 years and have noticed a drop in print quality over the last 1 year. I print my art on matte finish, mostly-black background on 10-point stock. My jobs lately have come back with what looks like glossy oil spots across the entire run. It's evident when light is put on the surface but not obvious in low light. I've been told it is where the inks are not drying while stacking. I sign each one and sell as art prints. Uprinting is always happy to reprint and friendly about it but it causes me to miss events with the posters and I spend a half-tank of gas to pick up on another day. Just last week the same problem was spotted when I picked them up. They agreed it was a problem and reprinted them. When I picked up the new ones I didn't notice the "oil spots" at first but when I got home under better light I discovered half of my 250 run was "oil spotted". I'm sure they will reprint if I ask them to but it concerns me that they are making the same mistake over and over. I used to be very pleased with the quality and turn-around time but in the last one year they looking more like an "average" low quality digital printer. I hate to shop around for a printer as good as UPrinting once was but I might have to start looking.”

“So I got my shipment of 11x17 posters yesterday. Many of the posters' corners are a little banged-up. I have been getting my posters from you guys for quite some time. This has been a continuous problem. I hope you guys can really find a solution for this.”

Q:
Is there a bleed on your 18x24 prints? I'd like my image to go to the edge.
Asked 20 days ago by James
A:

Yes, you will need to extend your background 1/8" (0.125") outside the trim line for the print to go to the edges.

Q:
Is it possible to order a few tests in advance? Deciding between 100 pt versus 10 pt card stock for printing - would be very helpful! Thanks.
Asked 2 months ago by Zurich
A:

We would encourage you to order the Free Standard Offset Sample Kit which would contain samples of both materials. While the 100 lb is comparable to the inside pages of a magazine, the 10 Pt stock is like the cover of the magazine.

Q:
If the uploaded design is to the edge, will the bulk posters be full bleed (No white borders)?
Asked 3 months ago by Natalia C.
A:

You will need to extend your artwork, 1/8" outside of your order size on each side to eliminate white borders to appear in the final print.  That is why it is important your artwork size is close or exactly the same as your order size and has a 250-300 DPI resolution. This will allow our proofing team to extend the artwork for you if you havent already. You also need to design your artwork in a CMYK format as this is the system most online printers follow so the color can be matched as close as possible.

Q:
What is the most popular poster size for reselling posters? Can a logo be put in the lower right corner or top left corner of the poster?
Asked 3 months ago by Sonja F.
A:

We cant give an accurate recommendation on size as we only print based on customer requirements.  However, most of the orders for this product measure 11" x 17" or 12" x 18".

Q:
I have 4 different posters that I want printed. If I order a bulk of 100, can I split the 25 between each design or would I have to create a new item per each design?
Asked 5 months ago by Icarusmetrocomics@gmail.com
A:

Unfortunately, our pricing is based on one design per quantity. The set up cost of each design is separate and we can only get the cost efficiency if the design is the same.
